The 18th Annual Amputee Tournament Players Championship was completed this past week with 40 amputee players from 12 states participating in the Amputee TPC (Friday and Saturday) and/or the Sponsor Scramble (Thursday).
With temperatures again in the mid-to-upper 90's, the 2011 tournament was a complete success as 30 amputees competed for 6 division titles in the 2-day tournament. (Note: There were 10 Amputees that only played in the Sponsor Scramble.)
The 2011 Champion, Runner-Up, and Never-Quit awards went to Mike Carver (Holcomb MS), John Novak (Circleville OH), and Mark Christian (Henderson KY) respectively.
During the opening ceremonies on Thursday, Amputees that have participated every year were recognized and presented with Perfect Attendance Shirts. (Scott Lusk, Virgil Price, Mark Calvert, Richard Minton, Alan Gentry)

Henry Brown Memorial Educational Scholarship Program established.
Amputee Golf Charities has establish a scholarship program in Henry Brown's name. Henry, an amputee golfer, created Amputee Golf Charities in 2003 and served as its President until his death in a farm accident in April 2008. This scholarship will be in the form of a one time grant, to be award annually in July. Any amputee enrolled in a post-secondary education institution is eligible to apply. The 17th Annual Amputee Tournament Players Championship was completed this past week with 54 amputee players from 14 states participating in the Amputee TPC (Friday and Saturday) and/or the Sponsor Scramble (Thursday).
On another hot and humid weekend in Shelbyville KY, the 2010 tournament was a complete success as 46 amputees competed for 6 division titles in the 2-day tournament. (Note: There were 8 Amputees that only played in the Sponsor Scramble.)
The 2010 Champion, Runner-Up and Never-Quit awards went to Dan Cox (Mequon WI), Mike Carver (Holcomb MS), and Jim McElhiney (Nashville TN) respectively. And, Bill Holloway (Englewood FL) won the Senior division.

The 16th Annual Amputee Tournament Players Championship was completed this past week with 50 amputee players from 10 states participating in the Amputee TPC (Friday and Saturday) and/or the Sponsor Scramble (Thursday).
Although the Scramble was eventually canceled because of rain, the 2009 tournament was a complete success as 45 amputees played in the 2-day tournament (5 amputees were scheduled to only play in the Scramble).
The 2009 Champion, Runner-Up and Never-Quit awards went to Dan Cox (Mequon WI), Bob Pollock (Brandenburg KY), and David Gritton (Louisville KY) respectively. And, Diana Hayden (Louisville KY) won the Women's division.

A check for $2,019 was sent to the National Amputee Golf Association (NAGA). This was money donated in Henry Brown's name specifically for the NAGA's Educational Scholarship Fund.

The 15th Annual Amputee Tournament Players Championship was completed this past week with 52 amputee players from 9 states participating in the Amputee TPC (Friday and Saturday) and/or the Sponsor Scramble (Thursday).
There were 123 participants (Sponsors, Guests, and Amputees) in the Sponsor Scramble and 47 participants (Amputees) in the 2-day Amputee TPC. (Note: There were 5 Amputees that only played in the Scramble.)
The 2008 Champion, Runner-Up and Never-Quit awards went to Louis White (Upton KY), Lee Clarke (New Albany IN), and David Gritton (Louisville KY) respectively.
The opening ceremonies included a memorial to Erik Alvey (June 1997) and Henry Brown (April 2008). A Photo Collage for each was presented by Amputee Golf Charities to family and friends.

If you are not already aware, it is with much sadness that we inform you of Henry Brown’s passing on April 8 due to a farm accident. The amputee golfing community, as well as others, have lost a great friend.
As the Amputee Golf Charities President, Henry always gave 100%, whether it was something to do with our tournament, visiting new amputees and/or rehab facilities, working with other amputee programs, or just being “Henry”.
We at Amputee Golf Charities plan to continue with the tournament on June 5, 6 and 7 as originally scheduled.

The Amputee Tournament Players Championship (TPC) will have a new host course. Starting in 2008, the event will be played at the Weissinger Hills Golf Course. This public golf course is located at exit #53 off Interstate 64 in Shelbyville Kentucky. (Note: Best Western Shelbyville Lodge will continue to provide Host Accommodations.)

The 14th Annual Amputee Tournament Players Championship (TPC) and Sponsor/Amputee Scramble was completed this past week with a record number of 68 amputee players from 13 states participating.
There were 139 participants (Sponsors, Guests, and 51 Amputees) in Friday's Scramble. And, there were 63 amputee players in the weekend TPC.
The 2007 Champion, Runner-Up and Never-Quit awards went to Dan Cox (Mequon WI), Les Meade (West Lafayette IN), and Walt Morris (Martinsville IN) respectively.
During the opening ceremonies an Appreciation Plaque was presented to Dustin Howard for his continued support and participation.

A second check for $700 was sent to the National Amputee Golf Association (NAGA). This was money donated in Art Cole and Jack Coburn's name specifically for the NAGA's Educational Scholarship Fund.

The 13th Annual Amputee Tournament Players Championship (TPC) was completed this week with 58 amputee players from 13 states competing in 11 Divisions/Flights.
The Super Gold (over 75) Division was added this year. Friday's Sponsor/Amputee Scramble was eventually canceled after a 4 hour rain delay.
The 2006 Champion, Runner-Up, and Never Quit awards were presented to Dan Cox (Mequon WI), Scott Lusk (Guston KY), and Mark Christian (Henderson KY) respectively.
The opening ceremonies included a Memorial to long-time event participants, Art Cole and Jack Coburn, who recently passed away.

There were 146 participants (Sponsors, Guests, and 53 Amputees) in Friday's Scramble. And, there were 55 Amputee players in the weekend TPC.
The 2005 Champion, Runner-Up and Never-Quit awards went to Dan Cox (Mequon WI), Bill Morrison (Hudson OH), and Frank Bennett (Palos Hills IL) respectively.
A Gold Division (over 70) was added this year and won by Virgil Price (St. Petersburg FL). And, Tina Carey (Versailles KY) won the Women's Division.
